Addison Street, Shellharbour

The project comprises retail / commercial spaces at ground level with mixed dwellings, a shared courtyard and outdoor amenities located at the top of the building.

The site is located at the heart of Addison Street, Shellharbour. It sits in between low scale local heritage buildings. In response, our design establishes a contextual framework that stitches the development into its historical context. The building form is setback to reveal the adjacent heritage building. The restrained external finishes throughout the development honor the architectural fabric of the coastal town, Shellharbour village.

The building stands on a higher ground of Addison Street. It stretches from Addison Street and the public car park to the south. The horizontal emphasis of terraces reflects the Shellharbour horizon. In a sense, these terraces become viewing platforms.

To complement and enhance the architectural design, a serene and seamless coastal concept was created for the development’s interiors.
