Knox Grammar School Oval and Gillespie Hall Refurbishment
Designing to improve existing facilities and amenities, the primary objective for the alterations and internal refurbishments was crystal clear from the outset: to create an open, connected, and flexible learning facility that would effectively cater to the evolving needs of the school. Largely maintaining the existing facades of Oval Building and Gillespie Hall, synonymous with the Knox culture, the challenge was to integrate contemporary learning spaces within the existing built form. Gillespie Hall and the Oval Building saw enhancements with upgraded GLA’s, a library space featuring curved interactive projectors, a well-equipped staff administration area, a roof terrace, and a ground floor dedicated to the Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics, and Media hub.
The innovative design not only revitalises the learning environment but also showcases a remarkable improvement to the existing facilities, aligning perfectly with the high standard of amenity that Knox Grammar School is renowned for.
